Type III for inlays, crowns and small bridges

Working procedure for Apollo 3

1. Indication. Rich yellow dental alloy for inlays, crowns and small bridges.
2. Contraindication. If patients are known to be allergic to any of the components,
the material shoud not be applied.
3. Sprueing. According to the indirect method: 3 mm ø for crowns,
3,5 mm ø for pontics, runner bar 4-4,5 mm ø.
4. Investing. Invest in a reliable phosphate-bonded investment,
such as Carrara Universal DL Investment.
5. Burn out. Preheat at 700ºC/1290ºF for 30-120 min. depending on the size
of the muffle ring.
6. Casting. Casting temperature: 1070ºC/1960ºF in graphite crucible;
or with the flame in a ceramic crucible with for example Elephant Proflux.
Use at least 1/3 new metal at each casting.
7. Finishing. Use the usual finishing instruments and materials, for example
Elephant Alublast, Bright Blast and polishing materials.
8. Soldering. Elephant II (PdF) 800ºC/1470ºF or III (PdF) 750ºC/1380ºF
with for example Elephant Paste Flux.
